Baby shower at work

My friends at work had a baby shower for us this week. It was lots of fun and I enjoyed seeing everyone since I haven't been working. We got lots of wonderful gifts. We received all of the booster seats we needed, blankets, towels and wash rags. More diapers and wipes!! And we also got the quad stroller I wanted! I was so excited. We are very thankful for the generosity of my co workers, it is great to work at such a wonderful place.

30 Weeks

Well I have survived 30 weeks of being pregnant with the quads! Still feeling well, just tired. I do have to say I am very glad I listened to my gut and decided to stop working! The doctor was glad too! I get very tired very easy, it wears me out to get Duncan and myself ready and him to Abby's. I went to the doctor on Friday, and they did an ultrasound called a BPP ( biophysical profile). Each baby can score 8 points, 2 for practice breathing, 2 for 3 big movements, 2 for heart rate and 2 for fluid around them. They all scored 8 out of 8! I go back to the doctor tomorrow and they will most likely do the BPP again and not do measurements and weights on the babies since they will be here in 8 days. YIKES!! If the doctor really wants the measurements, they will do it otherwise not.

We are all ready, I think for the babies! We are going to look at a crib tonight since the one Duncan slept in the side falls down!! Everything is put away for the most part, thanks to Taylor for coming over and finishing putting away the clothes!!! We are also set for the most part with everything we need.

Duncan is doing well, we having been reading big brother books. I think he gets it, I hope anyway! He is very ornery these days. He wants to do what he wants! If I raise my voice ( which does no good), he will say "stop talking loud, Mommy". I tell him to be good and then I don't have to talk loud, usually that is enough for him to do what I want him to do. He also has been pulling a my belly doesn't hurt when it is time for nap or bed! I tell him that's good, but you still have to go to sleep.. Works at night, but not at nap time usually. He also likes for one us to lay with him at night time. He likes me to rub his belly. Last night he was asleep, I thought so I got up, he yelled at me to come back and I told him to close his eyes for 5 minutes and if he was still awake, I'd come back.... well he went to sleep!! Imagine that!!

Abby decided to take a close up of just my belly!! Getting darn close to the door.

Safe Trick or Treat, pumpkin Carving and Halloween

Taylor took Duncan and Gabby to safe trick or treat at the high school. They had a good time. There was a ghost there that scared Duncan. That is what he talked about the most! He told me he was a good boy and held Taylor's hand while they were there. Taylor also said he was a good boy, I am glad. He usually doesn't fib about that stuff, only when he is good sometimes he will tell me he was bad!

We (Tracy and the girls) also had the annual pumpkin carving party, pumpkin gut fight. This was started when Tracy came into the family, really just when we were dating, but it is mostly an annual tradition now. They had fun, Mom, Abby, Rodney and I did not participate this year, or tired not to. Duncan decided everyone was going to be involved. He was sure to get guts on everyone!! He had a blast. I didn't think he was going to like it, but it only took one time of him throwing guts at someone and it was on! He was a mess. Let me say I was glad I am unable to give Duncan a bath at this point, his Dad got to do it! Although we were still picking pumpkin out of his ears 2 days later!

Trick or Treating was Saturday night, wow what a busy day Saturday was! Duncan went as a bear, I found 2 bear costumes at a garage sale this summer for a buck a piece so I grabbed both of them. Him and Gabby were both bears, they were so cute. Good thing is was on the chilly side because the bears were very warm!! Just like a snow suite. I think the bears will be used again, possibly next year! Taylor wanted to be Goldie Locks and the 3 Bears so they had a stuffed bear for bear number 3, although I am not sure if that bear went with them or not. I sat at Abby's house and Abby and I handed out candy. Not many kids in town this year. We didn't even go through a big bag of tootsie rolls. Tracy, Rhonda, Kathy, Mom, Sarah, Hannah and Rodney all went trick or treating. They all had a good time. Duncan was one tired boy when we got home and was asleep with in a half an hour, unheard of him lately.

Lately Duncan is really into reading. I love that he loves to read, it is the first thing he does when he gets up in the morning and the last thing we do at night before bed. We have always read to him at home, maybe not as much as we should. I am very glad for the girls reading their books, and papers to him when they were home schooled. He also goes to the library once a week with his Aunt Abby. He loves that, he sits in the book tower and reads while she gets her books. He also picks his own books off of the shelf while he has his reading time. We have been having lots of truck and tractor books at home! We have also been reading books about big brothers, hoping that is going to help his a little for when the babies come! He has a bag that we tote back and fourth to Abby's so he can switch his books out on a daily basis. I tried to have him return a truck book I was tired of reading the other day and he found it in the pile and put in on the counter so they would renew it because it is his truck book!! We will get it back there soon enough!

All ready to go trick or treating. Sarah collected food for the food pantry again this year.

Duncan and Gabby playing, they were on the ground most of the time before trick or treating.

This is how it all started, Duncan just wanted to give Gabby a hug!

After carving pumpkins, they were all pretty gross.

Duncan not leaving anyone out! Grandma was impressed!

All I can say is gross, I am not sure how she got her teeth clean. I am pretty sure she got her Uncle back and got some in his mouth too!

Duncan got the hang of throwing guts very quickly, he figured out you just scoop up from where ever and throw!

Duncan's pretty gross too! He had a good time.

Getting help so he can get Daddy.

Safe Trick or Treat, Duncan loves to color

Must be yummy!

Just getting bigger and bigger!

Night Eyes and Pupmkin Patch

Duncan and Tracy went to Night Eyes at the zoo. Duncan had a good time!! He got hot in his bear costume so he had to take it off. He saw lots of animals and got some candy. I stayed home and rested while they went there on Sat. On Sunday we went to the pumpkin patch with Mom and the Hawkins, we all had a very good time!! Williams Pumpkin Paradise on 62nd Ave ( this is a reminder for me next year because we can never remember).. It is free and the kids always have a good time.

Duncan and Taylor in the maze, they were having a good time!
Tracy coming out of the box, it is very dark in there, and not lots of room, I think it was a tight squeeze in there. He went with a little boy who Tracy works with his mom and then Hannah came and got him.. Can't say no the the nieces!

Duncan liked being buried in the corn for a few minutes

Duncan in the tunnel, he wouldn't look at me... Imagine that

Sarah and Duncan playing in the hay stack. I think this was his favorite part.

Haystack again, he had a blast there!

I think it's time to potty train!

Today Duncan decided he wanted a different diaper on ( one with moon's, it is a night time diaper). so after I changed his stinky diaper and was washing my hands.......... Duncan went to his closet and got the diaper he wanted, pulled his pants to his ankles and took off the clean diaper and said, peed, need a new one!! Well hopefully it will come soon!!

Sunday, October 17, 2010

I can't remember if I wrote about my baby shower last month!! Abby, the girls, Tammy, and Jen and her girls did an open house baby shower for us. It was a blast. The whole community was invited and lots, and lots of people came. We got lots of diapers, wipes, soaps, and clothes! Thanks to all of them for doing this.

The baby beds are set up and so now we have to get the rest of the clothes put away and the beds made, bottles washed and the cupboard with all the bottles and bath stuff organized and I think we will be ready to go!!

I went to the doctor on Friday, everything is still going well. Got to see the babies again, man are they getting big!! No wonder I feel like I can't breath sometimes. I am cutting down to 2 4 hour shifts a week at work, not bad for 27 weeks along. We will go back to the doctor every week still, and they say that most likely 11-19 is when the babies will be born. We are excited!!

Duncan is talking more and more still, it is going to be never ending now!! He is using 3 word sentences, sometimes 4. We always know what he wants for the most part. He also knows what he wants and will make sure we understand so he can get it! I wish he was ready to be potty trained, but he is not yet. We ask often if he wants to sit on the potty, sometimes yes and sometimes no! Mostly no!! I am not going to force it right now, mostly because I don't have the energy and it will be me that cries because I do that alot lately!!

Duncan and his ice cream cone his Daddy got him for being a good boy!! 10-10
Me 27 weeks pregnant with the quads!! Abby says I have to post a picture every week until they are here. I had no idea I was quite this large!! I think I will take up the whole door way before it is done. We will see. 10-15-10

Sunday, October 10, 2010

Well I went back to the doctor on Friday. All the babies are growing and doing well. They weight 2.0,2.1,2.2,and 1.15. They are all measuring ahead of schedule still. I am feeling well for the most part, except my back is really bothering me this weekend. I am not sure what I have done, but pretty sure it is from picking up Duncan. I am tiring really hard not to pick him up, but sometimes I just have too. When we seen the doctor on Friday, he states there is no reason to push me past 32 weeks since I am doing so well, so most likely the babies will be here on 11-19-10, just a few weeks away. I am still working 4 hour days at work and they told me as soon as I can't do it I need to let them know so I can get a note for work. Hopefully I will be able to keep working for a few more weeks, we will see. I am thinking maybe I will have to cut to 2, 4 hour shifts a week.

Duncan is doing well, he is still growing every day and makes us laugh hard daily at something he does. He knows I don't feel well and he can get away with pretty much anything so he is taking full advantage of that! He has decided he needs his Dad to lay with him at night time so he can go to sleep. He tires to get Mom in there, but I just can't lay on his bed at this point. Today he decided he needed to shower with Mom, so he did and when his Dad came and got him to get him dressed he got away and came back to the shower, and hopped right back in. I can't really stop him at this point because I can't bend over. So his Dad came and got him back out and ready for bed! I am pretty sure that Duncan knows there is alot of change coming too, I hope and pray he does well with all of the change that is coming our way.

Some days, like today I am unsure how I will make it through the next 6 weeks, it is getting harder to do things every day. I am pretty sure Tracy and I are both feeling over whelmed. I know I am, what is coming, what I can't do anymore ( less and less every day). I am very thankful for Tracy and keeping the house up, and taking care of Duncan. Also we are very thankful for the Hawkins for all they are doing to help out and also Mom for all she does! We sure couldn't do it without every one's help, so Thanks a bunch!

Well that is all for now, I am going to bed and try and sleep. Sleeping is also getting more difficult, I have lots of trouble getting comfy!!

Friday, October 1, 2010

We have not been up to much lately, the usual.. I rest when I am not at home.

I went to the doctor today, all the babies are doing good. They will be here the week of Thanksgiving, man time sure has went fast! I now have to go to the doctor every week. They will do the babies measurements every 3 weeks, and just check the heart rates on the other weeks. I feel very lucky to still be working at 25 weeks, with no problems. I am only working 4 hours a day now and then I come home and rest for a few hours. I can spend some time with Duncan and Tracy this way, it works well so far. When I decide I can't do 4 hours anymore all I have to do is call and the doctor will give me a note for what I think I can do.

Duncan is growing still every day. He is talking more and more, really he is never quiet!! I am not really sure what he will think when we bring all of the babies home, guess we will just have to see. He is in to listening to music lately. He likes to listen to his kids bop, and loves to dance to it too, he drags Mom and Dad in his room to dance with him. Really quite a sight!! Poor guy has no chance watching his Mom and Dad dance!

I had to take Tracy to the ER last week for chest pain and shortness of breath. They kept him over night and did a stress test. The stress test showed no damage to his heart, but his heart is not pumping as much as it should. He had an echo this week and will see the cardiologist next week. We will have to see what they say, I think he will most likely get some medicine to help his heart and that should take care of things, I hope!

Aunt Joni was home for her class reunion this last week and stopped by to say hi. We had a nice visit, not as long as we would of liked, but her, Abby and Duncan had to go have lunch with Hannah. Everyone from the Weir side will be back at Christmas, I can't wait to see everyone and get to visit!!
